Pantai Melawi

One of the best outings during my time in USM... After all the planning and hardwork, the plan materialize on the 16th of April, Friday. It was a wonderful outing with good food, beautiful scenery and great company...All in all, there was only world to describe it---MAGNIFICIENT!!! We got our own 'BAYWATCH' CS, XD

Muscle man jackson

This is what happened after we showed our 'baywatch' guy...Too high till can't stand...hahaha

Playing kite with SC...Too bad the string was so limited it could only flew this low...Poor kitey...

Hunting for 'crabs'

One of the many scenery photo taken...Beautiful ain't it? There's a kampung taste to it...XD

Oi, CS, camera is over here la!

Fuyoh, 2 beauties catwalking...XD

Me, Mel, SL, Sharon

Ya dear, later I get the coconut for u...haha

And last but not least, a family photo...haha...Wonderful times^^by the way, looks at what jackson is doing to SL...XD

24th April 2010...The day I left...

Today is the first day post-USM era... I have been staying on in the campus for more than a week since result for my finals was announced. The place that I have hated so much when i first came has became a place where there is a lot of precious memories that I know I wont forget... Its really an emotional departure. Felt so much like crying(I have always been a sentimental person, just that i dun really show it... :p).

Leaving USM means leaving all the environment I have been so used too. The hostels, the lecturers, and most importantly Mel and my friends. After 3 years of relationship, this is a stern test for both me and Mel. Its the first time we have been separated like this. Hopefully, everything will be fine. Apart from that, there is my dental friends, coursemates, yamcha gang, football gang as well as the soopin, LX and company. I have always felt blessed to not only able to have great friends with those of my years, but also, from you guys... As for the yamcha gang, please continue the tradition of thursday nite! haha. Weeksdays are always dull, especially when there is too much teachings to prepare, end posting exams and dental clinics. Yet, I feel that since we had our regular yamcha session, there is at least sometime nice to look forward to every week. We laughed, we sighed, we teased, we drank and we ate together. Those were the times when all our troubles seemed like nothing at all! It was like nothing else mattered anymore. I believe Jackson would have said the same. The only thing was that too bad the session was not started earlier...haha.

To my dental friends, I am glad that USM policy requires us to have lectures and PBL session together during the first 3 years of our course. If not, I might have missed the opportunity to know great friends like you all. Lek tuan, kian ping, kit yan, jorhann and zhiling... Will always remember you guys! Hope you all will do great for ur pro^^

Even before my final exam, our football gang had to be disband as most were going back leaving just a few of us...I doubt I can find another team of friends who can play as good as you guys! Hopefully we can play together again in the future. Get a trophy for the coming competition ya...haha

I will remember the 24th of April 2010, the day when I leave USM, the day when tears were shed for me, the day I said goodbye... I am deeply touched. But remember this, goodbye is 再见,which literally means that we will all meet again. As long as there is the will, I am sure, we will all see each other again. Its been a wonderful 5 years, no bad memories, only fond fond memories that I have already started to miss...I was doubtful that missing out in UM was a blessing in disguise, but not anymore...Cheers!

April the 15th, the day I finally finished my medical course...

Today is a great day, where i have finally completed my course for undergraduate studies. after today, there is a lot of responsibilities to handled. But still, it is one of my happiest days. 5 years has passed since I first stepped into USM, hating that I had to come to Kelantan for studies instead of Penang or KL. And now, here I stand, feeling deeply sentimental. Its so so so sad that I have to leave my friends to walk our separate paths. It has really been a wonderful 5 years, tough, yet enjoyable. Thinking about all the activities, the volleyballs gang, the football gang, our dota society, drum team members, our yam cha society...it all just makes me so sad that I have to leave already. And also, leaving my dear here will be one of the hardest things to me also.

People say life must move on in order to progress. Its really easier said then done. I know i am going to miss everyone(well, most at least, haha) here, as I have already started to missed them already. I am also very thankful, that over the 5 years here, I have received a lot of help, from seniors, from my coursemates and roomates, I sincerely would like to thank you all for making it possible for me to complete my studies.(special thanx to alex, francis, biing horng, bik liang and many more^^)

May God bless us, and may we have many many gatherings to see each others again... I will never forget all of you, as you all have been an important part of my life. Cheers!

Full Throttle!

4 more days left and the 'war for glory' is gonna start. 5 years has passed in the blink of an eye, and now, there is one final obstacle that stands in my way of graduating. After 5 years, it takes only 8 days to make a difference. All that we've learned should be put to use. Confidence, knowledge and luck is all needed to the fullest. We have heard so much about the various 'killers' and pitfalls of the exam, and hopefully, with any luck, we wouldn't have to deal with any of them.

This is also the first time I have made any post-exam plans. Every since UPSR in primary school until now, I have never made any plans for post-exam periods as I am always worried about the 'what ifs...'. This time around, I have made plans for a 1 week visit to Taiwan in May and maybe further trips to Singapore around end of May. Making this plans is kinda scary, as any problem in the coming exam would force me to scratch all of them off my calendar. As the saying goes, 'there isn't any reason why we can't do it, other than not doing it', quoted from myself...XD. So, there's no other choice, I'm going all in! Full throttle!

Wish me luck^^

My wall of knowledge...

With my exam coming up, I have been making notes one after another and place them on my wall so tat i can just read off them... And somehow, it seems that I have done too much...
Instead, now I have a full set of wall paper, even on my cupboard...XD

Overworked!!!

I have just came back to campus following a 4 day holiday in Penang. Coming back here was already bad enough, but coming back into piles of work is even worst still. 90 cases to write, 8-5pm fully packed classes with oncalls following at night. Presentations and power points to prepare... uek! Blood all come out d...>.< Just when you think that things couldn't get much worse...

Steamboat at LX

Another holiday beckons, and yes, a gathering finally! We had a first steamboat for sometime. There was quite a good turn out with a total of around 17 people. Too bad we hadn't played any games, if not, it would have been super interesting. But then again, its not like this is the last time anything of sorts will happen....XD I had a great time, and I hope everyone else did too....Weee~

Missing paper

Seems like all good things comes to an end.
Instead of happily getting my marks for the end posting exam for the O&G posting,
I get a message by the academic office saying,
'sorry, but we have misplaced your paper,
so, now we don't have your result.
You might need to resit the paper.'
What the heck?
An apex university and they can't even keep a piece of paper safe...swt...

Unfortunate event

Today is really a miserable day. After fetching my sis who came to visit Kelantan to breakfast, we noticed that when we gone back to the car, the glass on the backdoor was broken, and my bag was stolen. Ironically, i remembered to ask my sister to bring her bag out of the car, I forgotten my own. Although this is the first time this thing happened to me, but it has happened numerous time at that particular place already. Sad to say, our local enforcer seems to be incapable to do anything about it. From this, I not only have to replace the glass and also tint it, I also lost my lab coat, pen torch, stethoscope, and one of my book. All in all, a lost of at least Rm500 is expected. Really is a freaking miserable day....飞来横祸

Another adventure

Later today, I will be off to Besut for my district posting. Should be something quite fun to look forward to. Apart from some personel problems, its expected to be a busy yet interesting times ahead. A trip to Pulau Perhentian seems to be on the books but not really sure will it be carried out. Its been quite a long time since I have gone travelling away from the comforts of my home in Pg or away from my campus. It's said that there will be an excellent connection at the hostels at the district hospital. Wonder if that's true... Gonna use it to the maximum if able XD But then again, with my hardisc 6 feet under, I wonder if I can stock enought movie for the rest of my final year. haha.

H1N1 has been really rampant lately. People are starting to die here and there. Numbers increasing everyday very significantly. However, certain measures carried out seems pretty controversial. With the current handling of the problem by our ministry of health, its kinda hard to see this danger resolve. Our campus has even decided to meet all of us in the Dewan Utama at 9am later. Heard its for a talk on H1N1. Wonder if the decision to gather the whole population of the campus wise considering that there are outbreaks in the campus lately. I somehow feel pretty certain that this move will just escalate the matter and cause our campus to temporary shut down in the very very near future. Maybe then I can have my holiday...XD

Although annoyed by certain individuals lately, i feel kinda comfortable in the condition i am in currently. Life is very enjoyable now with the amount of workload and play in a just nice condition. Too bad all this isn't gonna last. In 10 months, all this will be gone. Studies will end, friends will be leaving to pursuit each other's career. Thinking about it really makes the heart feel kinda soury. Time moves really fast, too fast to me to appreciate every thing that I have or had...

1 down 9 to go...

3 weeks and one posting gone. Moving across the street from the A & E to the anesthetic department. Another short posting. Time flies around here, people don't even walk anymore, they FLY, yes FLY. Things move faster than they usually do. Log books, reports, presentations stack up sooner than you even get to open ur mouth to complain. Even weekends seems shorter than they are, all used up to heal up the tired body for another week's struggle. but then again, there is always time for some snooker, some dota, some football and volleyball.kekeke.Another 9 more postings and that's it for me...huhuhu, gan chiong~ weeee~

Ambulance and resuscitation

2 days ago, when i went for oncall, I had an indifferent encounter. There was actually a call for the ambulance. The exciting thing was that i get to follow along. So, without thinking much, with my face mask on, i hopped onto the ambulance. At first, I was kinda worried if I would be suffering from motion sickness as in my mind, ambulance 'fly' on the roads. Furthermore, there is no seatbelt at the back seat. To my amazement, the ambulance seems to be 'crawling' instead. I think the ambulance might have gone so much faster if I were the one on the wheel.Lolz. the only difference between the ambulance driver and me is, I cant drive pass a red light. >.<

I was suffering from fever that day, but i went oncall anyway. I was also coughing so the face mask was on me all the time when I was in the hospital. I had no idea where we were going and what case we were tending to. We headed into a small kampung and stopped by a wooden house with lots of people crowding inside. When we reached the patient's side, he was unconcious with an intravenous line on his hand. After some history taking by the doctor, I realized that the patient had tuberculosis. TB!!! and he was an intravenous drug user, meaning, there is a high chance he is HIV positive. Waaaaa!!! From that moment onwards, I was extremely careful not to take of my mask. I dun wan to catch his TB bugs when I myself is weak.lol. The patient was later sent to Hospital Kota Bahru then we went back to USM. All in all, it was a kinda different experience.

On a sidenote, my economical status really needs some resuscitation after spending so much on books and a new printer. T_T

Beginning of the end

My final year(hopefully there won't be a six month extension) has officially started. With it comes all the ward rounds, the on calls , seminars other practical sessions. It has just been 3 days into the new semester, but there is a sense of ending as exams are really not that far away. 9 months and thats it. Still missing life in Penang, I have to drag myself out of bed everyday around 7 oclock in the morning. By the time i reach my room(which luckily is kinda comfortable after my personal touch here and there, weeeee....), i am completely worn out. But then again, being me, however worn out i might be, there must be games. I think my motto should be ' game is essential for life'.

Finally the broadband issue reached a conclusion with me cancelling the registration with the tesco branch in KB and gone for the KB mall branch instead. The tesco branch has really been such a nuisace with a poor attitude and making broken promise with every breath that they have. Its so annoying to be dealing with this guys(to be precise, its a few gals...>.<)

For today, I have just had my session in first aid. Not the first time already, but the guidelines for basic life support really do change fast(4 yearly). Just only realised that medical personales have to take the courses at their own time yesterday. Haiz... they should say earlier ma, then i can spend my holiday taking these courses instead T_T. Nevermind la, can do anything bout it now... Weighing my options on whether to go back this weekend or not. Feeling like going home and get a new specs made, but then again...2 days how to get my specs done wor...haiz...

P/S: yikoko says that a new rose server which is the titanRose is coming up soon with all the quests and gears and gems...wee~

29th June-Day 1 back to Kelantan...
Today, after sleeping at 3 something in the morning, I woke up around 7am. After breakfast with my dad, he fetched me home. I saw some aunties who were my mum's friends and went by to say hello and had a little chit chat. After that, when I went home, I noticed one thing. I left my keys on my dad's car!!! In the end, had to call him back and take the keys from him. Hopefully din make him late for work.haha. After that, on the journey to KB, i drove ard 3 hrs of the journey. Unbelievable eh, especially after sleeping for a mere 4 hours. haha. shhhh, dun tell my frend ok? after we changed driver, i immediately started to 'fish'. By the time i reached my friend's house in KB, i think that i have caught a few bucket loads of fishes already.haha. Went and met some frends then yamcha for the day. we did went to tesco and i reregistered for the student package of broadband. went home and stare at the simcard for a long time hoping that i can use it soon. but then, after a few tries setting up, without any signs of success, i went to bed.

30th June-Day 2 back to Kelantan...
Today, slept till ard 12pm... really lazy and tiring. also, i was feeling rather down as i have to restart life without my reliable gangs. Miss you guys so much man!!! furthermore, tis is the 2nd day i hv been deprieved of internet access. I got a call from my dad saying that celcom called him. It seems that i have been blacklisted by celcom as i have not paid my balance for the last account of broadband. The amount i owed was RM4.40. swt...So, in the end, i went back to tesco and payed the balance. according to the worker there, the case was closed and i shld b able to use the net by the next day. so, i went back home looking fwd for the next day. I also went Chiang Mai restaurant for dinner tat day to celebrate my gf's belated bday. enjoyed the keng som fish, the fried kangkung and the pandan chicken. At nite, it was a super duper nice nite...after the dota session in the afternoon, we continued at nite. Til 5am...haha

1st July-Day 3 back to Kelantan...
Bibipu have reached kelantan!!! i din manage to join the others to fetch him as i was laying unconcious at the bed until 1pm. After that, went out again and help mel take her things to her house as well as dota a bit. Cleaned mel's house then at nite went to help mel to pack her home. supper with bibipu till 3am in the morning.nth much today.

2nd July-Day 4 back to Kelantan...Today
today slept til 11 sth. woke up, bath and went china town for lunch. After that, went to bibipu n green bear's house to help a bit cleaning their house. Went celcom for the broadband prob. according to them i nid to contact the providers at tesco. so, i called the number they gave me. and i was asked to go to tesco to get my money back as the package i wanted was unavailable already. when i reached tesco, i was told, that my form was with celcom now...ish...and that there is a chance my registration can go through. they ask me to wait for another day before they call to confirm if the registration is void or not. swt lo....then, to9, finally, i can online and tis was the end product.haha. dota one game. hopefully life will improve a lot more...

Here comes the hostel issues again...Lolz.

Here's what I got from my friend's facebook comments.

LYY New Nurani motto: Take your key..shut up..and leave..

Jackson: then they makan gaji buta
Jackson: I wonder whether this hv smthg to do wif the notorious kak syikin
Tan: huh?? how come??
Winnie: but i heard change to pn sauwana dy, rite? what happen ooo? i was kicked to block B, btw... T-T
Jackson: i heard kak syikin got promoted to HEP admin d.
Tan: dun feel like goin bec usm d =( torturing.....
LYY: Rule num 1: Kenot change rm..
Rule num 2: Kenot choose rm mate..
Rule num 3: Kenot ask who is your rm mate.. Juz wait to be surprised..
Jackson: I bet usmkk hostel admin most probably enjoy & laughing if they c this.
Tan: two words : bian tai 变态
Winnie: who is the rmate also can't ask? siao de...
LYY: Oh yeah.. forgot most important
rule num 4: Top priority for single rm to 5th yr repeat students..
I quote them saying 'Kalo nak confirm dapat single rm senang, u fail tahun 5 u la.. haha'
I think their merit system is like this:...

Fail tahun 5: 100 point(terus dpt bilik)
Sukad pingat emas: 10 point
Pass exam: -10 point (Dah pandai sangat x perlu stay hostel)

Winnie: like that also can??? usm is getting crazier & crazier day by day...
Orange:haiz....now i really hate to go back..
Leong: hey...dat motto seems familiar ler...datz how murni ppl get shooed off in the previous years wif kak syikin in the murni office....
Mel: murni has always enforce the first 3 rules. but rule 4 is sooo awesome. positive reinforcement/ reward ppl to fail

Then there are some of the comments which are too long, i juz take the interesting ones...haha

LYY Oh.. worst nurani management ever!

LYY: Definitely.. No changing rooms.. Not only that.. No choosing roommates.. Even if both got double rooms.. Juz take watever room we are given n shut up.. omg..
Mong: wow....even d al mighty yy oso powerless.....seems lik 'toleransi bukan demonstrasi' is totally irrelavent....
LYY: Haha.. 'demonstrasi' also useless la.. They juz DUN CARE..
Jackson: yes, they dun satisfied wif how bad they did last yr. claimed to made a new record. well done, i'm so proud!
Yong: murni has been practicing that policy all this while la.. u all just got lucky last time only :P
Jackson: omg, this is so stupid. i wonder y hostel management wanna be this stupid ah? to show & prove tat they r actually stupider than how they look?
Mong: if u can persuade tuan haji then it would be better.....bt overheard single rooms given 2 5th year repeats....is tat true?
LYY: Ah Mong.. Yeah wat u heard is true.. Apparently those who is doing remedial have more 'merit' to the desa.. so they all will get single room.. And tuan haji is supporting this new idea of 'take your room key, shaddap and leave'.. Apparently they dont even allow us to know who our rm mate is.. I quote: ' Tak payah tau siapa rm mate.. ofis ni untuk amik kunci bilik sahaja'... Jackson.. regarding tukar suka sama suka im not sure la.. But there is a case where there's this guy who doesnt want to stay in his room.. So he let his fren who got TenTen to stay in his room.. Then the almighty puan salwana somehow found out abt it and force the guy to sleep in surau even though the no one uses the bed.. She said protocol is protocol.. The bed is for the 1st guy and not the 2nd guy.. If the 1st guy dun wan then let it remain empty.. can u bliv dat??
Jackson: omg, wat the heck?!!! She is super stupid to stick to the rule like that, wat a brainless fat lady. I duno y after given apex status, usmkk react more anti their own students, esp hostel admin. this is outrageous!
LYY: Apparently they want to be more professional.. So.. to achieve that they think that when they r less friendly.. they r more professional
Jackson: lol. confirmed stupid.

Weeeeee, now its looking so 'good' to go back. Confirm ciak lat...

Exams, here we go again...

Its the time of the year again when everyone is busy facing their end of semester examinations. In my coursemate's case, their Professional exams. I've had my 2nd Pro exam as we called it last year. This year, my juniors that are undertaking the exam are facing a different kind of challenge as the way the exam is conducted is changed. Basically, I would say that the change is for the worst as it reduces the clinical experience for my juniors. Anyway, we'll leave that to just that.

For those taking the Professional II exam this year, basically they have 3 papers. 1st the short essay question, then the clinical OSCE and finally the data interpretation. Unfortunately, there seems to be some favouratism in our campus as some people has so called 'answer scheme' for the examinations. According to some source, they say that there is at least 17 questions of short essay question that came out from the scheme. For the data interpretation, we are given slides of data and asked to analyze them. Some of the students have memorize the answer so well that even before the question is given, they have done the answer. Imagine that!

Sigh, what can we say? The world that we are in obviously is unfair. This is just a prove of it. The most reliable people are still ourselves. Study hard, and we can still excelled without the 'illegal' help.

To all those taking exam soon, good luck!

The dissappoinment...

Lately, I've been glancing through a lot of my secondary school mates' blogs as I finally have the time to settle down and relax. From it, I just realize how very different our university life is. Some of my friends are in Japan, some in Australia, some in UMS, all are very very different indeed. Comparing myself with them, my experience seems so... ordinary. Or maybe there are any experience except for the long nights of dota and the early ward rounds and on-calls.

Studying abroad has always been what I've been yearning for so long. It was a childhood dream, which remains as such, a dream. There isn't the slightest sign any changes in that status. University life in USM Kubang Kerian(USMKK) so far has been very far off interesting, and even more far off than what I wanted. I've always thought of University life as when we will be more independant, in a large campus which is properly equipped, and has lots of exciting and fun activities. Much to my dissappointment, this isn't the case. My campus is more or less as large as my secondary school with most of the equipments malfunctioning. The gyms have lots of equipments, mostly not functioning. We have wireless, which isn't so unstable that Celcom broadband is fast becoming a trend in the campus. With this kind of connection, our lecturers still expects us to get our assignments done. In the end, we have to turn to the library computer which is the main source of virus infection in the campus. Even the qualities of the lecturers have dropped significantly since the first year I came. A lot of the 'legendary' has become history and lots more are on their way out due to the policy of our campus. The best examples will be our physiology department where there was once a good deal of 'Einstein-ish' figures. Well, for a consolation, we still have a lecturer who does look like Einstein in our surgery department.
I would give anything to be taught be someone like him!
Another dissappointing thing in the campus is the amount of activities. Due to the amount of undergraduates in the campus, there can't be too much activities. We do not have the prom nights, the faculty nights or any dinner in fact to look forward to. Nevertheless, we do have some activities such as student conference which was held in UMS, and a few other outdoor activities. However, much to my distaste, due to the fact that all the organizers of this activities are the M type, we rarely know about the existance of such activities until after they are over. The M people will take this opportunities fully for themselves while when we try to organize an activity, there should be an amount of them present. What an irony! So, for the whole year, the only thing worth thinking about is the Christmas night organized by the Christian Fellowship and also the Chinese new years night organized by 2nd year students.

From the blogs, I also came to realize all the beautiful scenery and all the different weathers that I have missed. Since I have been trapped here for such a long time, I've only experienced the super-duper hot season and the monsoon season where the rain just won't stop. There is no spring, no summer, no fall and no winter. Just plain-o sun or rain.

My university is also just one of lower ranking university in the country. We are currently just 3rd in the standings in our country. We do have a nick called the apex university, but well, I think so far it still counts for nothing since nothing is up to standard. Our university's ranking have plummeted to 313 in the world standing and is only 7 places ahead of UPM. UM not only is our country's top, but they are 73 places ahead of us. Maybe I'm just good enough for this University. Who knows?*shrugs shoulder*

And then there is the whole issue of the hostel thing at the beginning of the year. Its just made me realize that some people's words are just worthless. Our admins are exactly like politicians.(althought not all of them are like that) Its pointless to ask them to get a hold of information of any condition. They will give you any answers to make their life easier. As long as thats the case, if you suffer, thats your problem. So, they be worried if you step in our admins' office and sell a lot of fishes. They do sell them you know. Who says admins are there to help students?

Well, looking at the bright side, at least I will be away from here after one more year(hopefully, fingers crossed). After that, I can try and make a better choice then when I did for my university. After all, we have to pay the price for decisions that we make.haha
